A studio-quality video podcast – with three iPhones

Two hosts, one table, three angles: a wide shot and two close-ups, cut automatically to whoever is speaking. That’s the difference between a “webcam recording” and a show people enjoy watching.

3× iPhoneAutoCutStream + recordGuests via Reporter app

Static single-camera podcasts lose viewers. Cutting to the person speaking keeps attention – and AutoCut does exactly that, fully automatically: the AI detects who is talking and switches to the matching close-up.

Intro music, lower thirds with your guests’ names and the countdown before the episode live in a show rundown – set up once, reused for every episode. You stream live to your platforms while the app records locally in full quality.

How your podcast studio comes together

  1. 01

    Three cameras at the table

The main iPhone with the Creator app as a wide shot on both hosts, two iPhones with the free Camera app as close-ups. Table tripods are enough – the setup stands in five minutes.

  2. 02

    Connect wirelessly

The two additional cameras connect over the Creator app’s hotspot in PRO mode. No router, no cables across the room.

  3. 03

    Build the rundown once

Intro with music, lower thirds for hosts and guests, topic overlays, outro – saved as a rundown and reused for every episode.

  4. 04

    AutoCut does the cutting

While you talk, AutoCut switches to the active speaker’s camera automatically. You focus on the conversation – not on the tech.

  5. 05

Stream and record – at the same time

Stream live to YouTube and other platforms while the app records the show locally in parallel – as a file for editing, audio-podcast export or your archive.

What you need

  • 3 iPhones: main camera from iPhone 12, close-ups from iPhone 11
  • Table tripods or small clamps
  • Recommended: an external microphone (USB or Bluetooth) for clean audio
  • Regular Wi-Fi or cellular for the stream (about 5 Mbit/s upload)
  • LiveShow Creator in PRO mode (3 cameras, lower thirds, multistreaming)

FAQ

How does the automatic cutting work?
AutoCut uses AI to detect who is speaking and switches to the matching camera – like a director following your conversation. You can override manually with a tap at any time.
Can guests join remotely?
Yes. With the free Reporter app a guest joins by code from anywhere (PRO and up) – their live feed appears as a full camera and AutoCut includes them in the cutting.
Can I record without streaming?
Yes. Recording works without a livestream – the show is saved locally on the device. In STUDIO mode even in Apple ProRes for post-production.
How do music and clips get into the episode?
Intro, outro and transition music go into the show rundown; the app normalizes loudness automatically. Videos and images appear as rundown cues or overlays.
What does the setup cost?
PRO mode with 3 cameras, lower thirds and multistreaming is €29.99/month, cancel anytime, 3-day free trial. The Camera and Reporter apps are free.
